In today's stylish era we use something like glass plate, ceramic plate. But our elders used banana leaves for food, not just for tradition, it was the "natural medicine" of that time.
Eating a meal in a banana leaf is like taking a powerful medicine along with the meal. Do you know what magic happens when hot rice falls on a leaf?
Banana leaves contain a wonderful natural chemical called "Polyphenols". Most importantly, there is an element called EGCG (Epigallocatechin Gallate), the same element is also present in green tea.
When a hot meal is served on a leaf, these nutrients in the leaf melt and combine with the food. It increases the immunity of our body and prevents cancer.

There is a thin layer of wax (Wax Coating) on the banana leaf, you can tell if you touch it. When hot sambar or rasam is added, this wax melts and gives a unique aroma and taste to the food.
On a steel plate, you get the taste of food only, but on a banana leaf, the flavor of nature is added and the food becomes like nectar. In addition, the chlorophyll content in the leaf cools the stomach.
No matter how well we wash the plates, the soap content or smell remains on one side. If that soap goes into the stomach, it can cause ulcers or digestive problems.
Just sprinkle some water on the banana leaf and it will be completely clean. It is hygienic and safe due to its natural anti-bacterial properties.
Ayurveda says that if you eat banana leaves, your hair will not turn white quickly and your hair will become less. In addition, the leaves thrown after the meal dissolve in the soil and become fertilizer, unlike plastic, which does not destroy the environment.
Even if it is not daily, eating banana leaf twice a week is very good for health.
Do not use banana leaf as it is difficult to wash the plate, use it as it improves health. Today, bring a banana leaf from the market, have a hot meal, it's different.
