Thought of the Day:Faith in the divine plan turns uncertainty into a sacred adventure.
The gift we give to our loved ones, friends or relatives is not just a thing, it is a symbol of our feelings. But according to Vastu Shastra, some things that we unknowingly give away can create a rift in relationships and bring financial hardship.
When giving a gift, the energy or power behind the object is transferred from one person to another. Giving inauspicious things increases the negative energy in the recipient's house, which affects the giver as well.
Here's what you should never give your loved ones for any reason and what happens if you do. Keep these things in mind the next time you go to the gift shop.
We have seen many people gifting wrist watch or wall clock for wedding, engagement or birthday. According to Vastu and Astrology, it is believed that giving away a watch means giving away your “good time” or life to someone else.
A watch indicates running time, giving it to someone else can stunt your progress and ruin time in the recipient's life. Especially if lovers gift each other a watch, their “time together” will end sooner which means a break up is more likely.
Never give scissors, knives, nail cutters or any sharp objects as gifts to anyone. These are symbols of violence and harsh words, giving them a wall of hatred even between long-time friends.
These objects have the influence of Rahu and Kuja planet, which works to cut ties. Even when giving a kitchen set, it's a smart thing to do to keep the relationship going.
A handkerchief or handkerchief may look small and cost less, but gifting it is considered extremely inauspicious. As it is used to wipe away tears or sweat, giving it may lead to sad situations in the near future.
Shastra says that if lovers give each other kerchief, it will end in quarrel or separation. Giving it is like saying “our relationship is enough”, so avoid it as much as possible.
Think a hundred times before giving a leather belt, purse, bag or jacket. As these are made from the skin of dead animals, they are under the direct influence of Saturn, which brings financial hardship.
Gifting of leather goods slows down the financial progress of both the giver and receiver. It is safe and beneficial to give bags made of rexin or cloth instead.

Although we think it is good to gift idols of God out of devotion, in reality it can be a great burden to the recipient. Because every idol of God has its own ritual of worship, which if not followed properly will result in error.
If they do not keep the idol clean or put it in a corner, that fault or sin will also befall the giver. Instead of giving God, it is better to give books containing praises of God or sweet food.
Gifting an aquarium, water fountain or water showcase is like handing over your fortune to someone else. Water is a symbol of fickle mind and money (Lakshmi), if it is given then the wealth of your home can be someone else's.
Financial problems will arise in the home of the recipient of water objects and mental peace will be disturbed. As water drains away, so does the money in hand.
Lovers, couples or friends should not gift each other slippers or shoes. It is a sign of "going away" or "walking away" and there is a high possibility of a breakup due to boredom in the relationship.
Since shoes are the symbol of Saturn, if gifted to them, conflicts will increase in life. If someone gifts you a shoe, give them a small amount of money in return and fix the mistake.
If someone unknowingly gives you the above prohibited items (watch, knife, etc.) as a gift, there is no need to panic. Instead of taking the item for free, give them a rupee coin or two in return.
By doing this, it will not remain a "gift", instead it will become a transaction. This removes the negative energy or Vastu Dosha on that object.
We need to understand that gift giving is for happiness and love, not for hardship. Next time choosing a gift rather than price, keep these Vastu rules in mind to preserve relationships.
