Thought of the Day:Faith in the divine plan turns uncertainty into a sacred adventure.
As soon as we wake up every morning, it is our tradition that the women of the house sweep the door, pour water and draw rangoli. Today we will make rangoli using white stone powder or paint in the market.
But our elders use only rice flour to make rangoli. The real purpose behind this is that before we wake up in the morning and drink coffee, we should feed the small creatures at our doorstep.
Here is the real science and significance of Rangoli that we have forgotten in the name of colorful design.
Rice flour is a favorite food for ants, sparrows and small insects. If we put rice flour rangoli at the door, we will get the merit of giving festive food to thousands of ants.
It teaches the noble quality that "before we eat, we must give to other beings to eat." This is what we call "ghost kindness".

This is a wonderful "pest control" idea by our elders. If ants can get their food at the door of the house, they will not bother to enter the kitchen.
Due to this, the sugar can get infested by ants or the kitchen is destroyed by ants. It is a technique to control animals without harming them.
One of the best yogasanas is for women to bow in front of the door and make a Rangoli by joining the dots. This gives good exercise to the hips and spine and increases flexibility.
If the mind loses focus while putting the complex design of Rangoli, the line will go wrong. So it is also a meditation that increases the focus of the brain.
Geometric patterns and mandalas used in rangoli bring positive energy into the home. The guests who come to the house will feel happy when they see the beautiful rangoli at the door.
Rice flour is white in color and it is a symbol of peace. It keeps the atmosphere of the house clean.
Plastic sticker rangoli or chemical color rangoli does not bring any merit and animals do not get food. Make it a habit to make rice flour rangoli at least on festival days.
A handful of rice flour can fill the stomach of a thousand animals.
