Thought of the Day:Faith in the divine plan turns uncertainty into a sacred adventure.
"Sitting Cross-Legged" is common when we are in an office meeting, sitting in an interview or stylishly posing for a photo. People think that sitting like this shows "I am confident".
It may look very smart. But, if you look inside my skin, do you know what kind of "hell" your blood vessels and heart feel while sitting in this pose?
Here is the terrible truth of how a small posture can destroy the blood circulation of our entire body.
In our body, the blood pumped by the heart must go to the toes and return to the heart (against gravity).
When you sit cross-legged on a chair, the major blood vessels (Popliteal Artery) and nerves at the back of the knee are compressed. This is like a "check dam" to the blood flow.
The blood that should rise from the bottom to the top cannot go properly, it stops there in the leg. This is called "Venus Stasis" in medical language.
When a blood vessel is blocked, the heart has to pump even harder to lift the blood. This puts undue stress on the heart.
According to studies, as soon as you cross your legs, your blood pressure temporarily drops by 10 percent more! For those who already have BP problems, this is very dangerous. If you practice this daily, high-BP and heart problem at a young age is guaranteed.

This is something that girls should be very careful about. The valves of the blood vessels become weak when the legs are crossed. Then the blood accumulates in one place, the nerves in the leg become thick, blue or purple in color.
This is itVaricose VeinsOr "spider vanes" as they are called. Apart from looking unsightly, it can cause extreme leg pain and swelling. Once this problem is fixed, it is difficult to fix it without surgery.
The important nerve that connects the knee and the foot of our leg is "Peroneal Nerve". When we sit cross-legged, excessive pressure falls on this nerve.
This is the reason why the leg feels like "numbness" or "like pricked by a thorn" after sitting like this for a long time. If this continues, in the future "Foot Drop" (Foot Drop) can lead to a paralysis-like condition where the foot cannot be lifted.
When we cross our legs, our pelvis gets twisted. It destroys the alignment of our spine.
Anyone who has lower back pain or neck pain, check it out, surely they have a habit of sitting like this. It can gradually make the back bend (Hunchback).
A clarification is needed here. Our elders do not sit cross-legged on the floor (sukhasana or padmasana), which is good. Because that's where the knees "open", which gives strength to the digestion and hips.
But putting one foot over the other on the chair is dangerous. Because here gravity and compression both kill the blood vessels.
Style or confidence should be in our face and speech, not sitting posture.
Quit this habit today. Don't ask, "My leg is fine, sit anyway". Those legs should carry you through life, keep them strong. Your heart will thank you.
Note:This article is based on the scientific facts of Human Anatomy and Blood Circulation. Although short-term cross-legged sitting is not immediately life-threatening, long-term practice can lead to high blood pressure and varicose veins, medical research warns.
